We were free of charge. But as we’ve grown from tens of people to hundreds of people regularly here, more than 1/3rd of people who wanted to pay, weren’t paying, because there was no need. Our rates are way less than what similar places charge.
This has been the conversation with people here in the past few days:
Does that mean that people can’t be here without paying anything anymore? Yes, we’ll be open to paid members at the current rates.
Good, I thought you would ask that soon. Can I have visitors? Each member will have 3 visitor passes per month, and unlimited quick visits of up to 15 minutes or half an hour. Companies can have “company memberships”, with memberships and visitor spots. Each visitor spot is the same rate as a membership.
What about day passes? Almost half of the people who want to pay the current rate are here once a week or less, so day passes wouldn’t work. Our membership rates are way less than what similar places charge.
I have lots of meetings. About how many meetings per month do you have? $320/month is one member and one visitor spot, which is the price of a cubicle somewhere else without the amenities we have here.
Conference rooms are available for people already here, up to 2 hours per day, and for meetings with more people than the visitor passes or visitor spots, meetings are only $35/hour.
Also, “Collective Agency” is a democratic association: each member has a vote. We are being responsive to what people need and want.
Good, the more members the better! The new terms are on the website.
